After weeks for intensive practises, our big day was finally here.
Today's EDS NITE and we had to report at Toa Payoh Auditorium at 8am. My dad drove Bri and i there. Bri, as usual, left her phone in the car without realising it. Oh how dumb. Hahahas.

At the foyer of the auditorium, we met the rest of the dance members. Daryl, Zhiyi and Desirae were already there. Desirae, Daryl and i went to the backstage together. When we stepped into the auditorium, we were like, *GASPSSS!* It looked totally cool. After we got ready, Bevan ran through the item with us to mark positions and correct any mistakes. Danced danced danced.
The drama people.
The dancers. The Check-up (My favourite play!) - San Peng & Benjamin
Daryl's, Desirae's and mine - From Bevan

Wnt to watch the drama plays and the level dances ; ate MARS BARS which Charlotte and Wanyu so generously bought for all of us (Thank you darlings!) ; camwhored ; practiced dance. Time flies when you're enjoying yourself, huh? Before we knew, it was lunch time. We went to foyer to have our lunch which apparently was better than our dinner. After that we started to get ready for the first show which starts at 3pm. Some lovely ex-EDS members came back to help with the make up. They were so friendly especially Vanessa who gave a really touching speech before our 1st performance. "...touch the audience, make Bevan cry.", "dance with your soul, or it'll only be a listless body dancing."

Finally at 3pm, we all got ready and there, EDS 'NITE'. The afternoon show wasnt full house and therefore it was not so scary. But anyway, we danced with all our mights and we gave it all out (yeah?) After the item, the audience clapped and at that moment, i went, PHEW!

After that dance item, while the concert was still going on, Bri and i dilligently did our RS report writing. However, our 'hardworking spirit' didnt last long. We later stopped doing and started playing, camwhoring, chatting. Daryl, Bridget, Zhiyi, Desirae and i later went to 7-11 where Zhiyi and Bri bought biscuits while Daryl, Desirae and i bought SLURPIES!
I love Desirae. Zhiyi This is Bevan and we love him.cant really recall what we did after that. All i can remember is that what we were doing were basically chatting, homework, eating, camwhoring, touching up, dancing and yes, Charlotte was sleeping. Then came dinner time and had fried rice which wasnt really good. Right i understand, we cant expect much. Nevermind.
She goes kuku during EDS.
Finally, the night show. Before it started, Desirae, Bridget and i went to say hi to our beloved principal Mr Sng. (The warmth of Dunman High School. Ohh!) Before the curtains opened, we were hugging each other, wishing each other luck and that all would be well. The drama people were there supporting us too. When the dance started, the audience really clapped enthusiastically. I was somewhat touched. The screams, the cheers and everything! Then it was my turn. I think i screwed up the first part because i couldnt turn a full round (for the 1st rollover) because Janelle was really close to me and i might hit her. Sorry dancers and Bevan, if i've screwed up the first part. Other than that, it was great. We (well at least Daryl and i did) smiled. It really came from my heart. I just smiled, i felt really good on stage, showing what we've been doing. At the end of our dance item, the audience cheered really loudly. I was moved. After weeks of practises, it's all worthwhile. :)
Our roses again. This time with those given by Charlotte. Friend Forever Drama Prop True Love's Kiss
Daryl and i are never decent.
Before the Year 3 and Year 4 dance started, we all went to sit on the steps to watch them. They were so good. We kept cheering for them and that scenario was simply, simply unforgettable. We also stayed to watch the play 'Fairytale Trail' which was really hilarious and kept us laughing a lot. After that, we went backstage to prepare for finale. After everything, we hugged and i almost teared. It was really touching. Desirae was also in the brink of tears. Well, i think everyone was. EDS NITE turned out so good. :D

Oh yes, what's depressing today was that this EDS NITE was gonna be the last performance as EDS Dancers for the Year 4 dancers. I really cant bear for them to leave EDS. They're such perfect seniors. They dance exceptionally well, they are friendly, they are nice people. Some of them actually wrote personalized messages for us. Here are some -

From Sophia (Chairperson of EDS) : Hey sweetie! hahha, one of the only few juniors who are shorter than me :) nvm la, i'm sure you'll grow much taller than me. hahha. anyway, are you nervous and excited? your first ever EDS night concert! so must jiayou, have fun tonight and enjoy yourself on the stage yea? work harder in dance okay? i'm sure you'll be a really good dancer in EDS in the years to come. so jiayou! and remember to smile like that. (she drew a really cute smiley face and pointed to it.) you look so much sweeter in smiles! jiayou for dance girl!

From Samantha : Dear Weilee, you're really cute and i can see you're trying really hard to learn the dance. :) Good luck for EDS Night 08 and SHINE! You're a great dancer!

From Roseline : hello. =) wishing you all the best later! jiayou, hope you'll enjoy yourself tonight and remember to smile when you're dancing!

From Angelina : Hello! hahaha. Good luck & all th best for EDS NIGHT & SYF next year! :)

From Anthea : Hello! You're really cute and your handwriting's really nice! Haha! :P You're working hard and showing results so jiayou & all the best for EDS Night!

From Elaine and Jocelyn : I'm rather upset that i'll not be present there to witness your journey sailing towards next year's SYF. I'll still like to wish you all the best and success beforehand in breaking the bronze curse.
At times, especially during the intensive SYF training, you might feel lost, upset, being on the brink of giving up. Cling on to that hope of attaining greater heights, for being granted a chance to perform or participate in SYF is not that easy. They are many others out there who wish to participate in SYF yet are not selected. Treasure this chance and the tiring training which comes along with it. Life is not a pack of roses. So is dance. It is only through rigorous training that we push ourselves to greater physical limits, which is essential for us in controlling our movements and for us to last through the entire dance. Not everyone is born to be 'geniuses' in bein able to perform like professionals immediately after learning a routine. We all undergo the same transition process from doing the steps to real dancing. Even if you learn at a slower rate than others, it is better than giving up. Isnt it? I have the utmost confidence that the never-give up attitude will continue to prevail in you all and that you will see us attaining greater heights and limits!

I love EDS.
Indeed true.
I love the stage. I love the audience.
Thank you Bevan as well as the seniors who have trained us. :D
And Desirae darling, sorry about just now. Daryl and i didnt know that such would happen. Nonetheless, we love you yeah? ;)

"I want you to touch the audience with your dance. Make Bevan cry." - Our lovely ex-EDS senior, Vanessa
